“Nutella” Guilt Free
After being on vacation in Europe, and seeing Nutella everywhere, my family was ready for a healthy substitute. Creamy, sweet, and just like the original. This recipe is quick and easy to make and will satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth. Loaded with nutrients from roasted hazelnuts, coconut cream, and cacao powder that your body will thank you for.
- 1 cup hazelnut
- 2 tbsp cacao powder
- 2 tbsp extra virgin organic coconut oil
- 1 tbsp coconut cream
- 2 tbsp raw honey or maple syrup
- 3 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp real salt
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a single layer, spread the hazelnuts on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 10 minutes. With clean kitchen towel or paper towel, rub the hazelnuts vigorously to remove as much loose skin as possible. Let it cool. Using food processing, grind the hazelnuts until pasty. Add Cacao powder, oil, cream, honey/maple syrup, sugar, vanilla and salt. Continue processing until mixture is smooth. Place your “nutella” in a resealable jar and cover. Keeps refrigerated for 2 weeks.
